Communiqué de Presse du troisième Congrès des Verts Africains à Madagascar

La Fédération des Verts Africains (FeVA) a tenu à l’hôtel Colbert à Antananarivo du 19 au 21 juin 2014 son troisième Congrès ordinaire. La cérémonie d’ouverture a été présidée par Dr Frank Habineza en présence du Global Forum des Ambassadeurs d’Allemagne et du Maroc, de M. Robinson Jean Louis et M. Andrianainarivelo Hajo. Les travaux ont porté sur le rapport financier, l’audit des comptes, le futur programme, les amendements des statuts et Règlement intérieur, le renouvèlement de toutes ses instances notamment le bureau, le Comité d’éthique, les membres du Global Green Coordination. Au cours de leurs travaux les rapports-pays discutés ont été adoptés par les congressistes, leaders des partis Verts Africains, représentants les six (6) régions du continent. En outre les échanges ont aussi porté sur les axes de l’écologie politique en Afrique. A la fin des travaux qui se sont poursuivis dans le Parc naturel d’Andasibe Hotel Lodge Vakona, les congressistes ont procédé au renouvèlement de leurs organes dirigeants. C’est ainsi que les principaux responsables ont été reconduits dans leurs fonctions et de nouvelles personnes ont fait leur entrée. Les congressistes ont exprimé leurs remerciements et leur gratitude aux dirigeants du Parti Vert de Madagascar pour la qualité de l’accueil et de l’organisation qui ont permis le succès de ce troisième congrès. Le 4ème congrès de la FeVA se tiendra sur invitation du leader du Parti Ecologiste Congolais (PECO) à Kinshasa en République Démocratique du Congo. DGPR’s President re-elected to Chair the African Greens Federation

The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda is pleased to inform members of the media and the general public that it’s President, Dr.Frank HABINEZA has been re-elected to Chair the African Greens Federation for the next four years (2014-2018). This vote of confidence took place at the African Greens Congress in Antananarivo-Madagascar, from 20th -21st June 2014. The Congress brought together 17 political parties from across Africa. The African Greens Federation has its headquarters in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Dr.Frank Habineza was first elected in 2010, when DGPR was still struggling to get registered, a process that took it four years. His new election as President of the African Greens Federation was an appreciation for achievements recorded in the last four years and as well an acknowledgement to the Government of the Republic of Rwanda for having allowed the Greens set foot in Rwanda. He was also one of the three officials elected to represent Africa on the Global Greens Coordination, the second coming from Niger and the other from Morocco. The substitutes come from Madagascar, Chad and Uganda. The congress also elected other officials, from different parts of Africa, who include: the First Vice President from Burkina Faso, Second Vice President from Madagascar, Secretary General from Senegal, Treasurer from Uganda and the Communication Secretary from Niger. The Committee also has Regional Chairs: Togo represents West Africa, Kenya represents East Africa, Egypt represents North Africa, Congo-Kinshasa represents Central Africa, Mauritius represents the Indian Ocean states, while the Southern Region will send its representative at a later date. DGPR has Established Party Structures in Some Districts and Provinces and Finalised Leadership Trainings. The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda is pleased to inform members of the media and the general public that it has established some party structures in four districts and Women Greens committees in four provinces. It has also concluded party leadership training for both women leaders and party members. Women Leaders trainings were conducted on provincial level but participants were drawn from different districts. The training in the Eastern Province took place in Rwamagana, while that of Western Province took place in Karongi, for the Northern Province it was in Gicumbi and finally in Nyanza for the Southern Province. DGPR took on the opportunity to establish Provincial Women Greens Committees in those provinces, which is a good step forward for the party in establishing itself at the grassroots level. The first phase of Party leadership trainings were conducted in Bugesera district, Huye district, Rubavu district and Musanze district. DGPR also established District Executive Committees in the above mentioned districts. This is a very important achievement for the party after its official registration last year in August. The trainings focused on the following themes: Meaning of political ideology and politics Responsibilities, structures and strategies of political parties in a democracy Gender and the role of women in decision making towards economic development Partnerships between private sector and the Government in development and young entrepreneurship Political leadership and political conflict management Political competition: elections, rules and regulations during electoral campaigns All trainings were done with support from the National Consultative Forum of Political Organisations in Rwanda. The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda appreciates that support and the good collaboration of all Districts and Provincial authorities.
