Celebrating the International Democracy Day

Celebrating the International Democracy Day

mardi 16 septembre 2025

15th September 2025, as the International community commemorates the 18th International Day of Democracy. I took part in a high level panel on Rwanda’s democracy today in Kigali, organized by Never Again Rwanda. It was such a wonderful opportunity of reflecting where the country had come from and where we are heading to. We concluded that Consensus democracy is still the best way to go. Democracy remains a cornerstone of peace, justice, non-violence, and inclusive development. It empowers citizens to participate meaningfully in governance, express their views freely, and shape the collective future of our nations and #Rwanda in particular. The Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, as a political party rooted in democratic values and committed to the principles of good governance, we take this opportunity to reaffirm our dedication to fostering citizen participation, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of public life. I would like to extend our warmest wishes to all Rwandans, party members across the country and people of the world . May this day serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of democratic ideals in building a Rwanda anchored in unity, dignity, and sustainable progress. Happy International Democracy Day. Let us keep the debate going more often. Dr.Frank Habineza President, Democratic Green Party of Rwanda
